I provide advice and treatment for neurosurgical conditions for patients in London, Surrey, Windsor and beyond.
I am a consultant neurosurgeon and I provide advice and treatment for conditions affecting the brain and spine including back pain, sciatica, disc prolapses, neck pain, brachialgia, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations and brain tumours, in both adults and children. I also have expertise in surgery for epilepsy, deep brain stimulation and paediatric neurosurgery.
I have an established NHS practice at King's College Hospital, London and Evelina London Children's Hospital, where I run clinics in adult and paediatric general neurosurgery, spinal surgery, epilepsy surgery and functional neurosurgery. I also manage adults and children presenting as emergencies with neurosurgical conditions. I participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and I have a role in the neurosciences risk and clinical governance team.
My private practice is based at the Syon Clinic, Clementine Churchill Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. I aim to provide pragmatic advice and hope most of my patients will not need an operation, but I strive to provide high quality surgery when it is needed.
I aim to provide a service which includes:
- Honest, straightforward advice
- Realistic discussion of benefits and risks of surgery, if that is an option
- Multidisciplinary assessment as you would have in the NHS, when indicated
- Timely correspondence and clinic letters, e-mailed to the patient and GP
- Onward referral to a suitable specialist for conditions outside my expertise
- Reducing routine follow-up appointments, instead offering patient-initiated follow-up when needed
I was born in Kyoto, Japan and studied medicine at the University of Glasgow. My neurosurgical training was in London, including King's College Hospital, St. George's Hospital and Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre. I undertook fellowships in functional neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery and paediatric neurosurgery at King's College Hospital before being appointed as a consultant neurosurgeon at King's College Hospital and Evelina London Children's Hospital in 2020. I have authored over 40 scientific papers and co-authored a popular textbook of neurosurgery - Oxford Case Histories in Neurosurgery. My other interests include cooking and the mind-body relationship.

Please e-mail info@hasegawaneuro.com if you would like to enquire about remote consultations. This service is only available for UK residents.
